Supply Yoga in Clapton, Hackney is a social enterprise yoga studio offering balanced, accessible, neighbourhood yoga with the profits going to subsidise free or discounted classes for community groups. The studio on Median Road in Lower Clapton, E5 is a simple but bright and soulful space with a lovely little garden. For a full list of classes, check out their timetable.
Supply’s mission is to make the physical and mental health benefits of yoga accessible to everyone, especially the most excluded groups – and those with particular health issues. Through the fees you pay for regular classes, it funds free therapeutic sessions to groups of vulnerable adults. To date, these have included bereavement support groups, cancer survivors, women recovering from mental ill-health and survivors of domestic violence. There are also regular, low-cost yoga sessions at local community centres in East London that are open for anyone to attend, including complete beginners.
Here’s what they said
Supply’s inclusive yoga classes will provide empowering experiences for all – transcending shape, size, ability, health and wealth…. We are always driven to ensure our yoga is accessible, not just financially but in the way we think about it, talk about it and deliver it to you.
Supply is supported by Unltd, social impact champion and foundation for the promotion of social entrepreneurship and the Beyond Business Fund in partnership with Investec, innovators in social business incubation. With this support plus the generous donations of regulars, Supply provides communities across East London with free, safe, shared yoga experiences that reduce isolation, promote confidence, health and psychosocial well-being.
